Abstract Mobile phone applications (apps) provide a new platform for delivering tailored services especially applied to Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) infection prevention and care. To review mobile phone apps currently available related to the prevention and care of HIV infections as well as other diseases. The articles were systematically identified and the research was indexed with the following keywords: Africa, Telephone, Mobile App, SMS, associated with the word Health, HIV, or PMTCT.
